Description of the Standard 4040 S

Exceptionally fast and reliable, the 4040 Shredder includes all electronic detection systems available in a paper shredder.The Standard 4040 S Strip Cut Shredder is designed for high volume heavy duty shredding. Two important qualities of a strip cut is that they require less maintenance and fill up bins less quickly than cross-cut models. This machine which features a 1 ½ horsepower, 115 volt motor has the ability to shred 27 sheets of paper at a time. The Standard 4040 shreds documents into ¼" strips at a rate of 24 feet per minute. The 4040 S also has the automatic on/off feature for hands free operation. Additionally, this Standard shredder is known as a continuous running model, meaning the machine is able to run 24 hours a day.

The 4040 has sensors that detect when the bin is full or if it jams. If either event occurs, the machine will be rendered inoperable until the problem is corrected.The 4040 is outfitted with a laminated wood cabinet, which is considerably more durable than lower end models with plastic cabinets. The waste bin also features a 35 gallon capacity, which is ideal for the high volume shredding that is possible with this machine. With a shipping weight of 180 lbs and dimensions of 33.5" H x 25.5" W x 17" D, the 4040 S shredder moves with ease thanks to its durable swiveling caster wheels.
