Q: I have a Royal crosscut HG120 papper shredder and it jammed on me shredding lest than12 sheets per shred. Please explain to me how to unjam the machine without damaging it.
A: For any paper jam in a shredder I would recommend spraying the paper in the throat of the shredder with commercial grade shredder oil and letting it sit for an hour. Then attempt to run it in reverse while tugging. If you don't have shredder oil available then, in very small doses, vegetable oil is acceptable. But regular use of vegetable oil is not good for a shredder so try to avoid doing it often.

Q: It will not rum in forward direction but will run in reverse. How do I fix this?
A: That usually means you've burned out one of the primary drive gears. This occurs in older shredders when they have been over-fed. If you feel comfortable about disassembling the paper shredder yourself then you can just call us an order the part. If not, I recommend just purchasing a new shredder.
