Q: Does the Destroyit 2240 have metal or nylon drive gears?
A: Gears on all but industrial shredders are made out of a combination of materials that resembles plastic or nylon. If they were made out of metal, then certain jams would damage the motor. So next time you break a gear, be thankful it was nylon. If it was metal the motor would have been destroyed.
