Description of the Datastroyer 103-DVD High Security CD/DVD Shredder

The hardened, solid steel cutting cylinders have been specifically designed to shred CDs and DVDs (with or without labels). It is also is capable of destroying the small microchips found within credit cards and ID badges, though no NSA specification exists for it.*

Additional Features Include:

Q: What kind of warranty does the dvd/cd destroyer come with?
A: All Datastroyer products come equipped with a one year guarantee against defects in manufacturing.
Q: Do you have any NSA approved CD/DVD shredders listed with a NSN number?
A: The government stopped assigning National Stock Numbers to new equipment some time ago. Definitely before DVD's became a factor in the market! However we do have a small unit designed specifically for CD's called the Datastroyer 101-CD. It's NSN is 7035-01-485-2134.
Q: Can we use the Datastroyer 103DVD for classified paper shredding?
A: The Datastroyer 103-DVD is NSA approved for level 6 destruction of optical media. That includes CDs and DVDs. It is capable of destroying paper if you shove it in there, but it is not NSA approved to do so. The resulting residue is a mangled strip cut which is nowhere close to the level 6 particle requirement. To prevent people from ever putting paper into the machine there is a CD sized shield that goes over the throat opening. It makes the purpose of the unit very clear. To date we have never had a customer accidentally put paper into the optical media shredder.
