Cumberland's X Series is one of the most versatile central granulators available. Ideally suited for applications including large injection or blow molded parts, automotive moldings, light purgings, furniture and appliance parts.
Description of the Cumberland X700 Central Granulator
Known for quality size reduction equipment, Cumberland makes some impressive central granulators available too. The X Series' Cumberland X700 Central Granulator is the smaller of the three available models and it features an ample throat size along with some innovative features. As a central granulator with a larger infeed, it can handle some challenging applications. It is capable of processing large injection or blow molded parts, but also furniture or appliance parts, auto moldings, and more. It can do so thanks to its rotor and disc design that creates uniform granulate while also eliminating some common problems with melting and smearing. The rotor uses a three knife chevron that interacts with two bed knives in a matching chevron pattern. The end disc rotation is what allows adequate airflow and this minimizing any friction in the chamber. Thus, there is none of the common melting that often causes so many problems. The efficiency of the scissoring cuts also ensures that less energy is used during the processing and this is why the unit has a standard 50HP motor that is v-belt driven. Superbly efficient, the Cumberland X700 Central Granulator is also easy to maintain and clean. It has a split chamber that allows the upper half to be raised and for the screen cradle to be removed quickly. The average cleanout time is cut in half thanks to this design. The average throughput for this unit is 1800 pounds per hour when the 3/8" screen is in use. The discharge is an Airveyor and the evacuation piping system does not have to be disconnected for cleaning.
Though this is an optimal unit, the Cumberland X700 Central Granulator can also be upgraded or customized with additional conveyors, blowers, and cyclone separators if desired. There are many different hopper styles for the infeed and there are options for adjustable rotor knives for specific applications. If you are in need of a rugged granulator for destroying larger and more challenging materials, the Cumberland X700 Central Granulator can handle even the most cumbersome tasks. The design of the unit prevents common melting and smearing problems because it operates at low heat and uses air cooling. It delivers uniformly sized materials thanks to its scissor cutting action and innovative knife design. It is easy and safe to use and is one of the more efficient machines available for bulky, continuous, and varied applications.
