Versatility isn't always guaranteed in granulators, but the Cumberland 65 Series delivers an unbelievable array of options. The Cumberland 6508 Beside-The Press Granulator is the smallest machine in the series and can be moved to different locations with its convenient mobility. Options between manual, robotic, or a conveyor fed hopper are available, and the top of the unit is even reversible for long runners. The entire flap assembly can be instantly removed to deliver optimal use of the hopper and feed system. The Cumberland 6508 has a cutting circle of 6.5" and a chamber size of 6.5" x 8". Thus it is ideal for injection molding rejects, small parts, small tubes, and edge trims from sheet extrusion.

Because it can be hand-fed, it is a low speed granulator to ensure user safety. It features a three knife open rotor design with D2 HCHC blades. The bed or stationary knives are also D2 HCHC, but have two edges and are reversible for optimum efficiency and use. The 3 HP motor uses a flywheel for automatic drive belt tension. This allows all scrap materials to be processed, without leading to instances of inertia. Additionally, the "counter slanted" position of the knives means that they operate like classic scissors. This guarantees that all materials are processed evenly and in a uniform manner. The Cumberland 6508 Beside-The Press Granulator also has rotating end discs to generate low heat and prevent wear and tear from friction. Controls are very simple and easy to use, featuring start and stop buttons and safety interlocks. They are NEMA Type 12 controls and integrate well with the easy maintenance options. The TEFC motor and the accessibility of the unit make it just as easy to repair or clean as it is to move.
