Cumberland B Series heavy duty granulators are designed for high capacity central reclamation. They can granulate a wide range of plastic scrap, from low density fiber to thick, high molecular weight purgings and can be integrated with a variety of handli
Description of the Cumberland 62B Central Granulator (B Series)
Substantial, heavy duty, and high capacity, the Cumberland B Series Granulators can really step in and tackle almost any reclamation work. They are equipped with some of the most durable gear and can even be customized or upgraded to accommodate specific needs. The Cumberland 62B Central Granulator is among the largest of the units and has an impressive throughput rate of 4500 pounds per hour. It can destroy materials such challenges as pipe scrap, extruder purging, bailed bottles, films, and much more. The unit features a hefty 200HP motor that is supplemented with a heavy duty flywheel and large outboard bearings. This combination of superior equipment eliminates the possibility of inertia occurring when the system encounters challenges or difficulties. The optimal cutting efficiency also guarantees speed and uniformity in the results. The cutting is done as the materials pass through the enormous 20" x 62" throat and into the cutting chamber. The standard infeed is a conveyor and this sends any of the material to be reclaimed into the rotor and bed knives. These are all made of HCHC, and the bed features two knives while the rotor has three. The blades are bolted to the rotor, and the chamber is machined for smooth transition and flow. The knives work together to accomplish efficient and precision cutting, allowing the powerful unit to use less energy than it would were the cutting tools less effectively designed.
Maintenance and cleaning are also supported through smarter design in the Cumberland 62B Central Granulator. The end removable screen, the central chamber, and the exterior bearings all work together to ensure that no debris, melting, or grease contaminates or interferes with the reclamation process. Though the Cumberland 62B Central Granulator is a strong solution for any business in need of continuous and heavy duty size reduction, there are some good standard options to be considered. The 12" airveyor used for discharge can be upgraded to a 14" chute. The motor can be upgraded to a 250HP unit, and the infeed can be switched for trays or rollers. There are options for water cooling when polymer melt is a concern and there is a way to have a five knife rotor too.
