Removal of front panel gives total access to cutting chamber for faster clearing and adjustment
Adjustable bed knives have two cutting edges, and are reversible for extended life
Double-sealed outboard motor bearings preclude contamination. All other bearings are double-sealed for long life reliability
Split rotor knives are offset for optimum cutting efficiency and power consumption
Internal surfaces of the solid steel cutting chamber are machined to an exceptionally smooth finish
Screens, mounted in swing-down cradles, are easily removed from the front of the machine
The T Series Granulators are compact granulators for inline processing of thermoformed scrap, including formed parts in the web with optional paddle rolls.
Description of the Cumberland 36T Granulator
Known for creating strong solutions for the size reduction industry, Cumberland's line of T-Series granulators provides flexible solutions and reliable results for those in need of skeletal web handling during the thermoform process. The Cumberland 36T Granulator is a heavy-duty and continuous processor, but it can also be set into any required position and harvest materials through its spring loaded driven feed roll. Materials are driven to the solid steel cutting chamber where the two reversible bed knives and the HCHC opposing cutting circle create uniform output at a very high capacity. The Cumberland 36T Granulator features a 36" infeed width and relies on two long wearing feed rolls that prevent slippage by using opposing spring loaded and driven actions. This is operated by a single motor, which also drives the rotor as well. The rotor is a full body, high alloy steel that utilizes three slant cut knives and six HCHC offset knives in a steep angle and keen set. This allows low power and lower RPM operation without plugging and ensures that incorrectly thermoformed materials can also be processed with ease and without fail. Knives are adjustable and reversible to cut down on replacement costs.
The single motor provides 1800 RPM and 7.5 HP that has the capacity for roughly 1,500 pounds of throughput per hour - when using the standard 3.8" screen. The motor itself is an outboard model that is double sealed to prevent contamination. The screen is reversible model, can be selected as a one or two piece design, and features 5/16" openings. It too is designed to ensure a long life and lower operating costs. Maintenance and upkeep of the 36T is made easy by the removable front panel, which provides the user direct access to the cutting chamber. The screens are mounted in swing down cradles for easy access, and the motor is an outboard design that promises easy upkeep. Though feature heavy, the Cumberland 36T granulator offers an excellent assortment of useful options. These include an upgrade to two driven feed rolls, paddle rolls, or a horizontal infeed hopper; the use of a stainless steel cutting chamber with tungsten carbide knives; a 10, 15, or 20 HP motor; and larger screens to enable a range of applications. If you are seeking reliability, affordability, and long term size reduction of thermoform materials, the Cumberland 36T is the solution.
