Cumberland's 1600 Series Granulators rate among the most capable machines in the size reduction industry. Designed with optimum functionality in mind, these Cumberland granulators handle a diversity of scrap from the injection or blow molding processes or extrusion tasks. The Cumberland 1620X Beside-The-Press Granulator is the smallest in the lineup and has a 20" infeed. The cutting chamber is an ample 16" x 20" wide and is equipped with the three knife open scooped rotor that uses Cumberland's very own blades. These are D2 knives treated with the company's proprietary process which ensures long term use and durability.

The Cumberland 1620X Beside-The-Press Granulator unit is made for ease of use and long life. The machined and bolted cutting chamber guarantees that maintenance and cleaning is both simple and safe. The rotating end discs prevent friction and heat buildup and the drop down and removable screen cradle makes it easy to care for. The oversized flywheel drive and the "sealed for life" bearings help avoid jamming, inertia, and cross contamination. The 20HP TEVC motor and the pivoting hopper allows for a range of feed applications: hand, conveyor, and even robot feeding. The sound attenuated system guarantees that noise is kept in check. Operating this unit is simple with the start and stop push buttons. There are safety interlocks in the NEMA Type 12 controls that protect users from machine danger. The discharge is a 6" Airveyor and the base comes standard as a stationary unit with a vibration pad. Even though the Cumberland 1620X Beside-The-Press Granulator is full featured, there are many excellent options available, including a larger motor - with options up to 40HP. There is also a choice for a five knife rotor, a vacuum take off on the discharge, a pneumatic discharge, wear resistant packages, a caster mounted base, and an evacuation system.
