Description of the Cumberland 1224X Beside-The-Press (800X Series)

As the largest in Cumberland's 1200X granulators, the Cumberland 1224X Beside-The-Press Granulator is a true work horse. An ample 24" infeed throat and large 12" cutting circle make this a go to solution for firms that must have "beside the press" size reduction of materials as challenging as scraps and rejects from blow and injection molding or extrusion processes. The Cumberland 1224X Beside-The-Press Granulator has a 10 to 25HP TEFC motor equipped with a solid flywheel drive to help overcome drag or inertia from challenging loads or feedstock. The ability of the unit to accept multiple feed operations (including handfed, conveyor, or even robot feeding) makes this a very flexible option. The throughput rate for this model is around 900 pounds per hour, made possible thanks to the large and powerful motor, the drive design, and excellent quality of the rotor and knives. The cutting chamber is machined, bolted, and doweled for cool running and reduced abrasion, and the rotor uses a three-knife open slant cut along with two bed knives all made of HCHC D2 OEM. The blades are all made to Cumberland's unique heat standards, and this ensures that they are not only sharp but durable.

The use of the scooped wing design of the rotor and the rotating end discs in the cutting chamber means cooler operation and less abrasion, plus it also means that the Cumberland 1224X Beside-The-Press Granulator has been designed for quieter operations too. This makes it a good choice for variable tasks, and the rugged casters upon which the sturdy case is mounted allow it to be easily relocated for different feedstock and workloads.Like the other models in this series, the Cumberland 1224X Beside-The-Press Granulator can be enhanced with a few standard options. The easy to maintain screen included with the machine is the standard 5/16" opening. There are also options for 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, and other sizes. The unit can also have a range of TEFC motors installed, with this unit being able to handle up to 25HP. If your manufacturing, extrusion, or production processes require beside the press size reduction operations, this unit is a good choice. It can run at 85 decibels or less, is easily accessed through double doors that open with quick release hand knobs, and can manage many different materials without fail or trouble, making it a workable solution for many needs.
