Description of the Cumberland 1212X Beside-The-Press (1200X Series) Granulator
Flexibility and reliability are the hallmarks of Cumberland's 1200x granulators. They can tackle size reduction tasks from injection or blow molding and extrusion processes, and they can accept materials readily through the multi-feed hopper. Hand loading, robot, and conveyor operations are all possible. The Cumberland 1212X Besides-The-Press Granulator is the smallest model in the series and it still offers an impressively large 12" throat that feeds materials into the machined, bolted, and doweled cutting chamber. This is loaded with the two bed offset blades made of HCHC D2 OEM and these are created by Cumberland to meet their own high specifications. The rotor has scooped wings and is also set with a slant cut, three knife configuration. The blades are treated with a proprietary heating process so that they can endure a tremendous amount of use and cut down on replacement and maintenance costs. The standard screens are also made for durability, and come in a 5/16" opening (though upgrades are available).
The Cumberland 1212X Besides-The-Press Granulator also relies on a 7.2 to 20 HP TEFC motor that partners with a solid flywheel drive to eliminate inertia for unbalanced loads or feed stocks. The open rotor ensures that operations remain cool and the rotating end discs also help to eliminate heat and reduce abrasion in the chamber. The unit relies on NEMA 12 controls and can be easily maintained thanks to the quick release hand knob access to the case and screen. This is truly one of the simplest granulators to manage as the sound attenuated design makes everything easily accessible. The unit discharges all materials into the metal bin discharger and the sturdy casters allow the Cumberland 1212X Besides-The-Press Granulator to be positioned in the most convenient area.
With a 500 pounds per hour throughput rate, this is certainly a compact wonder that can be put to use in many different applications and settings. Standard options are available, with upgrades to the motor as an option and screens that can be chosen in a variety of sizes - including 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, and more. If you are in need of a safe, easy to use, and effective granulator for your manufacturing or molding business, this is certainly the right place to start. The units are feature rich and extremely flexible. They are designed to prevent jamming and slowdown, and can really perform well with even the most challenging materials.
