Description of the Cumberland 1018 Beside-The-Press (1000XSeries)
With an spacious 10" x 18" cutting chamber, the Cumberland 1018X Beside-The-Press Granulator is ideal for the regrinding needs of any materials. Its sound enclosed base and caster mounted enclosure keeps a low noise level and is one of the best mobile solutions too. Tagged as a good choice for those in need of "beside the press" recovery of rejected materials, the Cumberland 1018 handles 550 pounds per hour. It all begins with the durable TEFC motor that delivers from five to 15 HP. The unit then sends the materials through a pivoting hopper (and can be handfed, robotically fed, or accept materials delivered via conveyor) and into the cutting chamber. There the three rotor knives (treated with Cumberland's special heat tempering processes for long life and use) made of HCHC get to work. The rotating end discs and open scooped design of the rotor provide uniform cutting, and the materials are conveniently discharged into a standard bin. The unit uses a flywheel rotor to overcome friction from more challenging materials and also has taper lock bearing as well. Though this may not always prevent contamination, the design of the Cumberland 1018X Beside-The-Press Granulator guarantees that cleaning and maintenance are exceptionally easy. The controls are NEMA Type 12 that use simple start and stop push buttons as well as safety interlocks to ensure user safety.
The machine can also be upgraded with a long list of standard options too. These include the use of D2 knife components and wear resistance features, upgrades to the discharge functions by the use of a 4" Airveyor or a vacuum take off in a range of common sizes, and the installation of a more powerful motor (in the 7.5 to 15 HP range). These updates are meant for those who want to put the Cumberland 1018 Beside-The-Press Granulator to continuous use, but the unit is completely reliable without any options or enhancements. If you are looking for quiet and cost efficient way of regrinding materials beside the press, look no further than the Cumberland 1018X Beside-The-Press Granulator. Easy to use and to maintain, the Cumberland 1018 is designed for safety and is capable of tackling a variety of materials.
