Cumberland's 1000X Series granulators are designed for efficient beside-the-press regrind of reject components from injection molding, blow molding and extrusion processes. 1000X Series sound attenuating granulators are available in two models.
Description of the Cumberland 1012X Beside-The-Press (1000X Series) Granulator
Cumberland's 1000x Series Granulators feature two very distinctive solutions. The Cumberland 1012X Beside-The-Press is the smaller of the two with a 10" x 12" cutting chamber that relies on a three knife, open scooped rotor that features rotating end discs and HCHC blades. The unit offers a throughput of roughly 450 pounds per hour and relies on a five to 15 HP TEFC standard motor to perform its many functions. The Cumberland 1012 Beside-The-Press is identified as a unit ideally sized for regrinding reject components from a range of settings that includes extrusion processes, blow molding, and injection molding among others. It is considered mobile and uses four sturdy wheels to be delivered to any beside the press location. With a compact and low profile design, these "sound attenuating" units can be easily wheeled from one place to another in order to meet any ongoing needs. The oversized solid flywheel is meant to offset friction caused by challenging materials, and yet safety remains a guarantee. This is due to the many convenient features of the machine. Consider that it uses a bolted cutting chamber that is easy to clean and maintain, it has a drop down and removable screen cradle for easy care and it relies on simple controls that have safety interlocks to prevent harm or damage. Additionally, the drive parts can provide unwavering performance, and the simple start and stop controls make accidents a thing of the past.
Though it is a complete, compact, and mobile solution in itself, the Cumberland 1012 Beside-The-Press can be enhanced through the use of some standard options. These include upgrades to the motor (from 7.5 to 15HP), the addition of a 4" Airveyor for the discharge function, a vacuum take off in a range of sizes for the discharge function, and enhanced knives that are D2 and wear resistant. The unit can also have a wear resistant package added if the materials processed are particularly abrasive in nature. The Cumberland 1012X Beside-The-Press is easily a good resource for any manufacturing process that must regrind scrap plastics on the site. Because of its portable nature and its full features, this makes the unit a wise investment for firms with diverse needs. It is meant to provide many years of service and comes equipped with durable parts and systems that will keep costs and maintenance to a minimum.
