Overview of the MBM 508A Paper Folder

The MBM 508A is an automatic friction feed folder designed to make folding quick and easy. This model features plug and play set up. Simply, unbox the machine and attach the fold plates, plug in the machine and you're ready to insert your paper and start folding. One of our favorite features is its space saving storage option. With foldable exit and feed trays, the 508A will fit compactly in any size office. The feed tray has the ability to accommodate jobs up to 11.8" x 17", and can accept 500 sheets of 64 gsm in quantity. The full color LCD touchscreen control panel lets anyone in your office operate this machine effectively even without training. With nothing else available with this capability, the 508A is the best option for ease of use.

On the touchscreen, simply pick which of the 36 standard or 24 custom folds that you would like to complete, and the amount of materials you have to fold. When you push start, the fold plates automatically adjust to the correct measurements. There is no need for the user to adjust the fold plates. If preferred, the user can run the machine in test mode. Test mode will run two of your copies through, so you can make sure that the fold you have picked will be the perfect fit for your materials. In the case of slightly skewed folds, simply make the fine adjustments to the folding position via the LCD control panel, or manually by adjusting the wheel at the top of the fold plate. If you are running paper through the 508A that isn't a standard size, simply add the dimensions and the machine will calculate exactly where the fold plates need to be positioned to achieve the desired fold.

The batching feature is convenient for users who don't want to count and separate their materials after being folded. Double feed detection is very accurate and the machine will stop folding when two or more sheets were fed through at once. With the option to purchase multiple add-ons, the 508A is versatile in it's ability to perforate and score. Touch screen
The LED touch screen sets up 36 standard folds automatically at the touch of a button. Up to 24 custom folds can be stored in memory.

   

Paper Feed / Separator Pressure Adjustment  
The paper feed pressure adjustment helps the machine to feed a wider range of stocks, and the separator pressure adjustment prevents double feeds.

Double Feed Detection  
The double feed detection sensor detects when 2 or more sheets are fed simultaneously and automatically ejects the papers without folding them.

Perforating / Scoring Unit
The 508A can be used as a perforator by replacing a perf unit to the folding table. It is also possible to add or replace perf/score/kiss cut heads on a unit to give multiple finishing styles in one pass.
