Shredding up to an impressive 37 sheets at once, and destroying 22 feet per minute, the Formax FD8602 cross cut shredder accepts paper, staples, paper clips, and credit cards. The extra wide 16" feed opening accommodates a variety of paper sizes. The heat-treated steel cutting blades rip through your documents, producing small, level 3 5/32" x 1-1/5" cross cut particles. The powerful and efficient AC geared-motor features heavy duty steel gears ensuring high performance and decreased operational noise.

An optical sensor located in the feed opening detects paper and immediately begins shredding. When the last sheet is detected, the shredder will automatically cease operating. The convenient LED control panel features several important functions and includes a load indicator. This load indicator monitors sheet capacity levels. When the user loads an unsuitable amount into this shredder, the load indicator will spike to the red. This alerts the operator of risk of paper jam or potential shredder damage. The Formax FD8602 can run either automatically or manually. The reverse function is beneficial when dealing with a pesky paper jam. Sensors automatically detect when the cabinet door is open or when the waste bin is full, instantly shutting down the shredder. As a bonus, the control panel also features "door open" and "bin full" icons.

Maintaining your shredder is the key to years of operation. Pairing this shredder with an auto-oiling system will ensure that the cutting blades are periodically lubricated, keeping the unit running in optimal condition. If the user begins to notice a decrease in shred capacity, simply press and hold the reverse button for 5 seconds, and the motor will run in reverse for 1 minute. Another impressive feature is the Self-Diagnosis System. Information such as operation time, number of auto-reverse sequences, and volume of paper shredded is recorded and can be displayed when the machine is serviced.
