Description of HSM Securio P40 L4 Cross Cut Shredder
The HSM Securio P40 Level 4/P-5 cross cut shredder produces tiny 1/16" x 9/16" particles. Accepting between 22-24 sheets of paper at a time, the Securio P40 creates a total of 2,116 micro-cut pieces per page destroyed. But paper isn't the only material this level 4/P-5 shredder handles. The HSM Securio P40 is German-made and features induction-hardened solid steel cutting rollers. With a guaranteed long service life, this 100% solid steel cylinder is unaffected by staples, paper clips, CDs/DVDs, and credit cards. A separate media slot allows users to feed CDs, DVDs, and credit cards. This flexibility is preferred for offices that desire a shredder that produces a smaller particle yet can still handle paper clips, staples, and various media. Paper waste falls into the 40 gallon shred bag, while plastic waste falls into its own container. This shred bag is reusable and removable for easy disposal.
The multifunctional control button alerts users to operational status. Backlit icons illuminate for various reasons, including paper jam, door open, bin full, button lock, and more. The powerful, continuous duty motor reliably works through even constant loads. For those eager to test the limitations of this unit, be prepared for a nasty paper jam. The JamStop Anti-Jam technology fights to prevent jams when the machine is overloaded. When a jam is detected, the Securio P40 automatically switches into reverse mode until the problem is remedied.
After a period of idleness, the Securio P40 will slip into standby mode and the EMCS (Energy Management Control System) decreases power consumption by up to 90%. To reactivate the shredder, simply begin feeding paper. Whisper Shred technology reduces noise level during operation for fewer disruptions to your work flow.

HSM Securio (Models AF150, AF300, AF500, B22, B24, B26, B32, B34, B35, P36i, P40i, P44i) – Office / Large Office / Department Shredders
Parts and labor to repair any failure caused by defect is limited to three (3) years from date of invoice. Strip and Cross Cut Cutting Rollers are warranted to be free of manufacturer defects for the life of the shredder from the date of invoice.
Level 5 and High Security Level 6 Shredders
Parts & labor to repair any failure caused by defect is limited to three (3) years from date of invoice. Cutting Rollers on all high security units that have an oiler installed are warranted to be free of manufacturer defects for five (5) years from date of invoice. Failure to lubricate these machines properly will void the warranty. Cutting Rollers on High Security Shredders purchased without an oiler are warranted for one (1) year.
HSM Standard Warranty
HSM warrants that any new products sold will be free from defects in material and workmanship when used under specified and normal operating conditions. This warranty is void if repairs are necessitated by accidents, misuse, abuse, water damage or fire. Please read the Manufacturer’s Operating Instructions, included with the product, prior to operation, to help ensure all precautions are taken to avoid canceling the manufacturer’s warranty. Modifications, alterations and repairs must be performed by an authorized technician. Lubrication for cross-cut shredders is required every fifteen to thirty minutes of operation, to maintain top working condition and this warranty.
In all cases, the final authority in determining cutting system defects lies with the manufacturer. All cutting systems must be returned to the manufacturer.
