Description of the Formax FD 125 Business Card Cutter
Printing and copy shops often need precision cutting, and this is especially true when it is cards, photos, and other specific types of work. Not all cutters can deliver precise work, and some make it very difficult to get the settings required. The FD 125 from Formax is meant to serve specifically as a large format card cutter, accepting some of the heaviest stocks available, including 130 pound stock. The FD 125 takes sheets up to 13" x 19" and allows for paper weight adjustments for heavier stocks as well. Capable of high speed operations and handling up to 240 cards per minute, the FD 125 is ideally suited for printing shops that offer full bleed color work. This card cutter uses a high capacity three roller feeding system to ensure consistency and eliminate waste. With seven pre-programmed settings and six programmable options for common job settings or work, this unit has super fine adjustment options to allow for very specific output.
The FD 125 features a cut mark sensor capable of detecting either top or bottom indicators. Once stock is put into the machine, it automatically slices it and then stacks it in order. Any waste materials from cutting procedures are covertly channeled into the output conveyor hidden beneath the machine. The optional output tray can hold up to 750 cards at once, and the feed tray will accept up to 2" of feed stock. Papers from standard letter size to the oversized 13" x 19" card stocks will work well in this machine, and upkeep is very minimal. The slitter cassettes are easily changeable, and range from business cards and postcards to brochures and more. Programming the FD 125 is a very simple and streamlined affair thanks to the user friendly control panel. Set with an easy to read LCD display, it demands only minimal commands from the operator to perform effectively.
If you are a printer or processor of color bleed card stocks and jobs, this machine is going to easily become a preferred solution. It can handle extremely demanding and specific cuts, and tackles some of the most challenging materials available. This card cutter captures all of its own waste debris and allows a shop to remain tidy and relatively dust free. The unit is reasonably sized and can easily fit into the smallest work areas. Measuring at 22 by 40, it is similar to a standard photo copier, and will easily become a reliable resource in your work.
