Features of the Cumberland C1400H Central Granulator (H Series)

  • Internal surfaces machined for ease of clean out and material flow
  • Heavy-duty, outboard mounted, double roller bearings
  • Designed for high-capacity central reclaim
  • 15, 18, 21 and 25-knife rotor
  • Handles a wide variety of applications including extruder purgings, sheet pipe scrap and other high torque applications
The H Series units were developed over many years, to perfect the process of reclaiming purgings, patties, and the extremely heavy cross section material forms.

Description of the Cumberland C1400H Central Granulator (H Series)

High capacity is one thing, heavy duty granulating is another. It is not often that a machine can do both, but that is precisely what the Cumberland H Series Granulators were designed to do. They offer some of the most high capacity reclamation and they put an emphasis on the most challenging materials as well. Those using the Cumberland C1000H Central Granulator can handle some of the heaviest purgings, cross section material forms, and even patties. It is all managed by the high shear rotor that processes all of the materials at a very high rate of speed and uses specially staggered blades to get the best results. The Cumberland C1000H Central Granulator has an open, three blade rotor that is equipped with HCHC blades. There are also two similar blades in the bed and these are put to work generating a 3500 pound per hour throughput rate.

Materials are sent into the 20" x 50" infeed via a conveyor and then they enter the cutting chamber where the knife array awaits. The high speed of the rotor, provided by the 150HP motor, the v-belt drive, and the heavy duty double roller bearings mounted outside of the system, manages to process materials of even the most rugged and durable kind. Typical granulate is discharged via the airveyor and is sized no larger than .375 inches. This means that the rotor will tend to work at a speed that may require modification of the cooling system. Though an open rotor and outboard bearings can help to prevent polymer melt, the speeds capable in the Cumberland C1000H Central Granulator may require some optional customization. There are a few interesting options that can be added to this unit. They include a larger motor, numerous accessories, different bed knives, and more. What never needs any sort of upgrading is the approach to maintaining and cleaning this unit. Because it is a central granulator, it is designed for optimal material transfer at the 112" feed height and into the discharge chute at the bottom. The internal surfaces are optimized for easy cleaning and flow, and the exterior bearings help to keep things clean as well. This makes the Cumberland C1000H Central Granulator a great choice for those who want a simple design, high capacity material handling, and predictable results for any sort of reclamation, granulation, or processing.
