The Cumberland B Series Granulators are known for handling ongoing and heavy duty work. Thanks to their hefty construction, well-chosen equipment, and quality design, these granulators are capable of tackling such challenging reclamation projects as films and fibers, thick sheets, extruder rejects, piping scrap, and so much more. The Cumberland 37B central granulator is the mid-range model in the series and provides users with a substantial 18" x 37" throat size. This is fed via a conveyor (though there are standard options that allow feeds and rolls to be installed too), and sends the materials directly into the large cutting chamber. This chamber is built with heavy duty materials and is meant to easily manage the heaviest loads. The chamber is designed for ease of use and guarantees that materials flow without abrasion or friction. This promises optimum cutting results, but there are some standard options that allow the chamber to have a longer wearing facing, water cooling, and more. The rotors and knife bed inside of the chamber are outfitted with HCHC blades. The rotor's blades are bolted into position and have three high shear blades in an open design. The bed also features two blades to create a consistent cutting action. These granulators are fitted with a heavy duty flywheel, which prevents inertia when even some of the heaviest and toughest materials enter the chamber. Additionally, there are outboard mounted bearings that help with processing while avoiding contamination.

The motor in the Cumberland 37B Central Granulator is a 100HP motor operated on NEMA 12 components with safety interlocks. It can provide the system with up to 2500 pounds of throughput per hour and then discharges all of the granulated particles through the 8" airveyor chute. The simplicity of this heavy duty machine is balanced out by the ease of use and upkeep. Despite its heavy duty construction, it is easy to change or clear the end mounted screen or access the central cutting chamber.
