Description of the Cumberland 3242 Central Granulator (3000 Series)

The Cumberland 3242 Central Granulator is considered a "standard" model. Though this granulator features all of the same capabilities as the larger units, it does vary slightly. The infeed uses a conveyor application along with a electrohydraulic lift. This sends materials into the split design cutting chamber that features a three knife open design rotor that is offset, which has a solid flywheel to overcome any friction caused by heavy duty processing. The Cumberland 3242 can handle the needs of many different settings and applications including extruder purgings, thicker sheets, pipe scrap, blow molded scrap and parts, films, and more. The 1200 RPM TEFC motor is paired with taper mounted bearings that reduce contamination and are fully adjustable. The throughput capacity is 6k per hour when the 3/8" screen is in place. Waste is evacuated via the Airveyor that can slide left or right and is twelve feet in length. Maintenance and cleaning is simplified by the hydraulic actuation system on the hopper and the cradle. The slide out pivoting discharge chute along with the split design of the cutting chamber, the drop cradle for the screen, and the replaceable rotor knife seats all add up to fast and easy upkeep or repair.

In addition to all of these features, the Cumberland 3242 Central Granulator can be enhanced or upgraded with a range of options. These include a wear resistant package on the chamber and knives, additional controls beyond the standard NEMA Type 12 (with safety interlocks), programmable service cycles to access the onboard auto lubrication equipment, and the installation of adjustable rotor knives that have a special setting fixture.
